I went straight to the description label on Steam only to find out that the Desktop pet project was inspired by Shimeji. Shimejis are computer software or programs that design animated characters to walk around your screen.
If you have done this in the past, you will know that these characters are always small, cute, characters from your favorite animes. They can move around, and even interact with your desktop. During my research, I found out that it is available on Google PlayStore for mobile users.
I didn't write this to blab about the Shimejis, but to explain how to import shimeji in the desktop pet project on Steam.
How to import Shimeji in Desktop Pet Project
1. Unpack the archive with shimeji in any folder (after creating a template you can delete it if you want)
2. Open the templates list and choose import shimeji in Desktop Pet Project.
3. Write the template name
4. Choose in the file picker path to unpack the shimeji exe or jar file
5. Choose needed animations from lists
6. Choose any rest animations that shimeji contains in the dropdown list by pressing add (you can choose as many as you want)
8. Set wall-crawling offset (needs to see how a pet will crawl on the wall)
9. Set floor walking offset (needs to see how a pet will walk on the floor)
10. Set mouth position (you need to cross two lines on the mouth point)
11. Probably add some memes (the memes category gives you the option to add any image that can appear related to characteristics such as happiness hunger or irritation and others, random memes can appear at any time)
12. Create a new pet from this new template.
