One thing you need to know is that for a character to be unlocked, you must meet up with some requirements. In this guide today, I will share the list of characters in this game and their requirements.

Risk of Rain Returns Character List & Requirements
Mercenary - Prove your strength by beating the game five times.
Sniper - Complete the game Once
HAN-D - You can find this in the final level in the Cargo 2 area of your map. Now interact with the grey door before you unlock.
Drifter - Recycle six drones in a single playthrough.
Artificer - Roam through 10 unique stages (you do not need to do this all in one run)
Miner - Head over to Stage 4 barracks, locate the tunnel in your bottom-right corner, and defeat the Elder Lemurian "Direseeker".
Acrid - You have to free this character during a run (check the Sunken Tombs map, at the top right corner)
Chef - Collect the following items: Meat Nugget, Bustling Fungus, Bitter Root, and Foreign Fruit in one run.
Engineer - Purchase a total of 40 drones (You don't have to do that in one run)
Loader - Snag 30 unique items in just a single playthrough
Pilot - Gather 15 different Monster Logs (Hint: Kill new monsters for a better chance)
Bandit - Complete the teleporter event on Stage 3
Enforcer - Defeat Magma Worm, Wandering Vagrant, and Colossus. (This doesn't have to be in one run).
Huntress - Character has been unlocked from the beginning
Commando - The character has been unlocked from the beginning
