How to Get Better Performance On Steam Deck or Linux in Fear and Hunger 2

In short, RPG Maker MV is a barely functioning mess of a game engine.

If the game doesn't have an official Linux port, it will hardly be playable because Windows versions of RPGMMV games just don't work.

Like the first game, Termina is marked as a "Verified" Steam Deck game for some reason.

Its frame rate is terrible and barely keeps around 20 FPS most of the time. Although it is much better than the first game, it can hardly be called an acceptable performance.

Thanks to user Savvy Kat, a new solution to this problem has been found. Unlike the original solution, the new one works not only for the first game but also for the second game.

Download and Configure the Necessary files

First, we need to download NW.js. Do it like this:

1. Open Google, type "nw js" and open the first link that appears in the search.

5. Download the “nwjs-v0.57.1-win-x64.zip” file.

After downloading, we need to extract the files from the archive to the game folder and perform some configuration actions.

The path to the game may vary, the default is:

/home/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Fear & Hunger 2 Termina/
After extracting the files, we need to delete the original "Game.exe" file.

After uninstalling the original executable file, we need to rename the "nw.exe" file to "Game.exe", it will become the new game launcher.

And that's all! The game should now work perfectly with this new method and there should be no problems using it in the Steam Deck game mode.
